Report illegal content

Do you see something in GhostChef that is illegal or breaks our community guidelines? Report it, even if you do not have an account. This procedure follows Articles 16 and 17 of the Digital Services Act.

In the app

On a recipe: ⋯ → Recept melden, or the button at the bottom. On a profile: Rapporteer gebruiker. Choose the reason that fits best. You can report the same recipe or account once, with a maximum of 7 reports per week.

By email

Email app.ghostchef@outlook.com with the subject “Illegal content report”. Include:

• where the content is: the recipe name or username, and a link if you have one;
• why it is illegal or not allowed, as specifically as possible;
• your name and email address (for a report about child sexual abuse you may stay anonymous);
• a statement that you are reporting in good faith and that your report is accurate and complete.

Please note: an AI reads our email. Every email sent to app.ghostchef@outlook.com, including reports made in the app, is read and sorted by an AI assistant: Grok by xAI (US). Only include what is needed. Decisions are always made by a person. More information

What we do next

1. Your report reaches us. If you report in the app, we receive your username, account ID and your account’s email address. If you report by email, we confirm receipt.
2. A person reviews the report carefully, objectively and as quickly as is reasonable.
3. If the report is valid, we hide or remove the content or close the account.
4. We let you know our decision by email, even if we take no action.
5. The person whose content we act on receives an email with the reasons (see below). We do not say who made the report, unless that is strictly necessary.

Reasons for a decision

If we take action against your content or account, we email you:

• what we did (hidden, removed, account closed temporarily or permanently) and for how long;
• which facts we relied on and whether a report came first;
• whether automated means were used;
• which law or which rule in our terms applies;
• what you can do if you disagree.

We do not do this if an authority forbids it.

If you disagree with a decision

This applies to the person who was reported, and also to a reporter who thinks we did too little. Reply to our email and explain why. A person reviews it again and we let you know the outcome. You can also always go to court or file a complaint with the Digital Services Coordinator in your country (in Belgium, BIPT, bipt.be).

Danger to someone’s life or safety

If content suggests a serious crime that threatens someone’s life or safety, we report it immediately to the police or public prosecutor. If there is immediate danger, call 112 yourself.

Misuse of reports

Anyone who frequently files manifestly unfounded reports may first get a warning and then be unable to report for a while.
