Delete your GhostChef account

In the app
Open Account and choose Account verwijderen. Your account is deleted immediately.
Without the app
From your account’s email address, email app.ghostchef@outlook.com with the subject “Account verwijderen”. Include the email address of your GhostChef account. We delete it within one month and confirm it to you. Do not send a copy of your ID card.
Please note: an AI reads our email. Every email sent to app.ghostchef@outlook.com, including reports made in the app, is read and sorted by an AI assistant: Grok by xAI (US). Only include what is needed. Decisions are always made by a person. More information
What we delete
Your account, profile, recipes (including published ones), photos, cook photos, videos, shopping lists, pantry, saved recipes, likes, follows, blocks, reports, XP, badges and cooking streak. This is not a pause: the account is gone for good.

What stays for a while
- Emails in our mailbox, such as reports or your deletion request: at most 12 months after they are handled.
- What OpenAI received for an AI action: at most 30 days, at OpenAI.
- Automatic database backups: until they are overwritten.
- What other people already shared through the share function: we cannot recall it.
- What Google processed for ads falls under Google. You reset or delete your advertising ID in the Android settings.
